So recently I made a purchase from Qwiksand Collectibles, my source for most all of my Mini-Mates. He was able to get a hold of some of the exclusive Iron Fist / Power Man sets available for sale. How do these 70's styled figures hold up to today's heroes? Read on to find out...

Looking at Power Fist first, you can easily see that this Mini-Mate hold very true to the characters original design. While I may not know his name or origins, I do know the look of the character, and this is right on. With the green and yellow mix, the detailed bandana mask, and even the sash hanging to the side, Power Fist looks great. Add to that the navel diving shirt, revealing a dragon tattoo on his chest, and you have one pimpin' styled super hero. He also comes with a small ball of pink, which can be attached to his hands to emulate his power fist style of justice - punching the crap of you if you do bad things. As far as heroes go, you can't go wrong with this guy.

That brings us to Power Man. Power Man looks like he just stepped out of the 70's and onto my desk. He comes with a navel high shirt, revealing his chest (what was it about men and baring their chest in the 70's anyways?); silver rings around his head and wrists; not to mention a chain for a belt, he looks ready for any sort of street brawl you can throw at him. Power Man looks to be a bad mutha that can put you in a world of hurt. Just don't tell him to trim that 'fro.

Bottom Line

Standing side by side with Iron Fist, this team makes a great addition to any Mini-Mate collection. I would recommend that if you are a completionist - grab this set. If you like some strange and cool figures to stand out in your collection, this dynamic duo of the 1970's would be a great addition to your Mini-Mate shelf. Heck, these are just cool figures that if you can find them, grab 'em. I got mine from Qwiksand Collectibles (thanks Sandy!), but as of the date this review went up, he is currently sold out of them : ( Keep check back to Qwiksand's, or your local comic shops, for this Mini Duo of power.
