So I am walking down the action figure aisle one day at Target, and what do I see? I see a new Storm Shadow, with an O-ring, and a cool looking bike. I stop, turn to my left, turn to my right, pinch myself (to make sure I wasn't dreaming, and picked it up off the peg. Needless to say this was a surprise to me. Also on the pegs were a Dart w/ Gun Station and Barrel Roll w/ Air Assault, both of these repaints with Desert style repainted former figure accessories. But this review is about Storm Shadow, and the cool bike.

In looking at Storm Shadow, I compared him to the recently released Venom VS Valor one with an action feature. While this figure is clearly a completely new sculpt, the best elements of the action-attack one remain, except for the 'dragon dress'. Since that will be available in a future released figure, I am not to upset by that. The figure itself is the first newly sculpted figure of Storm Shadow with an O-ring since the GI Joe VS Cobra series of figures - and that figure and all the repaints and re-makes since had no O-ring. This in itself makes Stormy here a great figure. Added to him is that cool look, the dragon on his back, and those semi-cold eyes, and you have one heck of a figure. He comes with a sword and scabbard, along with nunchuks, and of course, his bike…

The Ninja Lightning Cycle sounds in name like it would be from the early 90's line of Ninja Force, with neon colors on everything. However, this bike is anything but. Even though it is primarily white, it is still cool especially with Storm Shadow perched on it. From top to bottom it has a sleek and cool style that is very slick in a ninja's hands. Modeled seemingly after the bikes featured in the Venom VS Valor movie, this bike is just plain out sweet. It also features a missile firing action out of its headlight area, which is activated by simply pressing down on the rear tire. If you don't have the missile in there, then the action simply acts as suspension for the bike. Either way, it works very well. And as I mentioned on some boards this past week that I was bothered by its size, not so much any more. I think the windshield is a little small, but after a few days it grew on me more and more.

Bottom Line

Bottom Line - this set is worth your hard earned dollars for Joe toys. You get a sexy cycle for your ninja, and the first of the new sculpts Storm Shadow, now with O-ring! At them point of this review, this bike is available at Target only, but may be available in more wide release later this year or early next year. So if you see it, snag it, as this tends to fly first off the pegs. At least they seem to be evenly packed with other Target exclusive figures for now, so they may not be that hard to find. So why are you still reading this review? Go to your local Target now to get this figure!
